A little meter.
A clearer picture.

Illustrative sample values, not a live account reading.

Small enough to stay out of the way.

  • Primary and secondary Codex usage windows, with remaining percentages and reset countdowns.
  • Automatic refresh every minute, plus a Refresh button and F5 shortcut.
  • Drag to move or resize. Pin it above your other windows. Your layout is remembered.
  • Clear missing-data and stale-reading states when fresh usage is unavailable.

Up and running.

  1. Have Codex installed and signed in on Windows. The widget looks for codex.exe on PATH or in the standard local Codex installation.
  2. Download and extract the ZIP into a writable folder.
  3. Open PixelUsage.exe. Use PIN ON/OFF, drag an edge to resize, or press F5 to refresh.

Experimental, unsigned Windows app. No installer or automatic startup. See the included README for requirements and troubleshooting.

What it reads.

The widget shows the Codex quota associated with your signed-in ChatGPT account. It does not show a separate general ChatGPT message allowance or every concurrent model bucket.

It reads through your installed Codex app server. Authentication stays with Codex; the widget does not copy or log credentials, call a model, or send usage to vonkerz.com. Only window preferences are saved beside the app.

From friction to experiment.

A small AI-assisted utility built around a simple annoyance: checking usage should take a glance. C# and Windows Forms keep the download light, while custom pixel meters give it a little personality.

Designed, prototyped, and refined with AI assistance, including resize behavior and missing-data handling. This is an independent Vonkerz experiment, not an official OpenAI product.

Source repository remains private. The download contains the runnable app and instructions.
